In May, 2018, Ken Waters delivered the Drake Lecture at the Canadian Society for the History and Philosophy of Science Conference in Regina, SK. The title of his lecture was " How Genetics Succeeds: An Account of Scientific Investigation."

Ken Waters is Canada Research Chair in Logic and Philosophy of Science and Professor of Philosophy at the University of Calgary. Waters’ research concerns the nature of knowledge in the context of scientific practice and the conditions that make this knowledge possible. Much of his research examines biological practices and the way biologists seek to investigate, manipulate, and understand life. He believes metaphysics should be informed by the forms of scientific practice that work in our complex and changing world.
