Janella Baxter is a postdoctoral fellow at the Center for the Philosophy of Science, University of Pittsburgh. Her research investigates the nature of biological practice, causal explanation, and biological possibility by studying the technological successes of biologists. She works to expose various ways in which the existing literature mischaracterizes the scope of biology by ignoring research programs aimed at making new things happen with technology.
